No. In the state of North Carolina, patients have total, unrestricted access to a physical therapist, also known as "direct-access." This allows you to see a physical therapist without a physician referral or prescription.

However, if you are a Medicare recipient, we will be required to have one of your physicians sign your therapy plan of care (POC) in order to bill Medicare.
